Do you feel broken after cancer?

Updated: Dec 24, 2019

Damaged?

Like you should be sitting on the damaged goods shelf in the supermarket?

Well let me tell you something…

The damaged goods shelf is where all the cool kids are.

Being perfect is overrated.

But being a misfit, now that’s where it’s at.

Wonky boobs, a missing testicle, a colostomy bag or bald patches on your head.

Own it.

Scream from the roof tops…

THIS IS ME!

Listen to Keala Settle sing it on ‘The Greatest Showman.’

Turn it up to full volume.

Till you feel the floor shake.

And sing it at the top of your lungs.

“I am brave”

“I am bruised.”

“I am who I’m meant to be.”

“This is me!”

Feel empowered and feel alive.

Cancer hasn’t killed you.

You’re still here.

I’m still here.

And that is a f*cking miracle.

Sorry to swear.

But I had to stress the point.

My tits are wonky and I only have one nipple.

But I don’t care.

I am beautiful.

Just the way I am.

And whatever scars cancer left on you.

Whatever damage you think you have.

Stop caring.

You are beautiful.

This is you.

We are the cancer misfits.
