and thus release the future.
Undo the past in the present and thus release the future.
What does that mean?
Well it means different things for different people.
It could mean we’ve been carrying the burden and pain of cancer into our here and now experience.
But in doing so we are blocking the future from being wide and full of wonderful possibility.
Having cancer, having a loved one with cancer or losing someone to cancer, doesn’t mean the word is chained around your ankle and must be dragged with you as you walk forward into life.
But it doesn’t have to be about cancer.
For me that quote is about relationship.
And in particular relationship to mother.
My mother can be cruel and cuts me down often.
But because I believe so strongly in unconditional love I forgive and I move on.
But each put down, each criticism, each cutting comment chips away at my soul.
I must undo the acceptance and tolerance of such unnecessary cruelty.
Because it I don’t it will affect my future.
I will continue to believe her words.
Continue to feel worthless and less than.
Continue to believe her when she says I will never amount to anything.
I will not hate her or resent her.
But I will love me more.
I’m not carrying that pain and hurt into today.
I’ve been through too much.
I have survived too much.
And I know I deserve more.
Do you know you deserve more?
What is it from the past that you need to let go of right now in the present?
What is it you don’t want to carry into your potentially beautiful future.
