5 tools to feel better
If you want to truly transform your life after surviving cancer then you are going to have to trust me. My techniques and tools are creative, spiritual and quirky but they work, you just need to keep an open mind and try it!
1) LOOK IN THE MIRROR AND SAY "I LOVE YOU"
I learnt this life-changer from the incredible Louise Hay, if you don't own her book 'You Can Heal Your Life' then please do yourself a huge favour and buy it now.
Every morning, from this day on, I want you to do this when you're looking in your bathroom mirror and about to brush your teeth.
Look at yourself, deep in your eyes and say out loud...
"I love you (your name), I really really love you.
Life loves you, the universe loves you, you are so incredibly loved."
Chances are you're not really loving yourself at the moment, which is exactly why you have to put this exercise into practise every day.
The first few times I did this I cried, because I wasn't used to being so kind and loving to myself. And it took a good few weeks for me to stop feeling uncomfortable, because I didn't believe the words I was saying.
But I didn't give up, I kept doing it every day and eventually I did believe it and I ended up falling head over heels in love with myself.
So just give it a try...what have you got lose?
2) BE GRATEFUL.
Every self help guru out there tells you to be grateful, like that's the answer to all your problems.
But guess what?
Everyone says it for a reason!
The universe listens and gives us what we focus on, so if we focus on the shit (pardon my french) then we'll just get more of it, but if we persuade ourselves to focus on our blessings the universe will bring us so much more to feel blessed about.
Here's what I do, and I suggest you do the same...
Every day I text my close friend, Sarah, three things I am grateful for in that day, and she texts me back three things she is grateful for.
Writing a gratitude list is great, but sending your gratitude out there into the universe manifests more blessings
So choose a close friend you trust and suggest you start sharing the good stuff with each other every single day.
Even better get a few of your friends involved and set up a WhatsApp or Facebook group to share your blessings with each other.
3) A RANDOM ACT OF KINDNESS EVERY DAY.
It doesn't have to be anything big, it just has to be a small gesture in order to bring happiness to somebody else.
Let someone jump ahead of you in line, send a fun greeting card in the post to a friend, or buy your dog a tasty bone from the butcher.
Whatever you do, the whole point is to stop making everything about you.
Focus on others and you won't be so preoccupied with the crap that's happening in your life!
4) REMIND YOURSELF OF YOUR WORTH.
Pick three affirmations from HERE and write each one down on a separate piece of paper.
Stick these three pieces of paper in the places you will see them the most in your house. For example on the fridge, on the bathroom mirror, and the wall you stare at opposite the toilet 🙈🤣🙈
I say affirmations to myself in the mirror every morning, but as soon as I get on with my day those affirmations are forgotten. So I have them stuck in random places around my house and in my car, as a constant reminder of all the good stuff around me and within me.
It works if you work it so work it, you're worth it!
5) DANCE AND BE FREE.
I know it sounds mad, really I do, but dancing with abandonment is one of the quickest ways to get rid of negativity and immediately snap into a better mood.
It releases everything, all the toxicity dances out of your body and vanishes into the air...I mean it, It does!
Now I'm not asking you to start dancing like a nutter in front of your friends and family...but I am asking you to close your bedroom door occasionally and dance by yourself.
If noise pollution is an issue then just slap some awesome headphones on and have your very own silent disco. That's what I do when I clean my house...I dance my flat spotless and it's made household cleaning one of my favourite things to do!
